Röstningsanalys: Brett stöd i EU-parlamentet för Ukraina – svenskar i topp
BRYSSEL 19 november 2024Trots spänningar inom EU i andra frågor visar en ny analys att stödet för Ukraina är massivt i EU-parlamentet. Åtta av tio ledamöter röstar konsekvent för hårda tag mot Ryssland och fortsatt militärt stöd till Ukraina. Svenska parlamentariker är bland de mest aktiva i att stödja Ukraina.
En stor majoritet av EU-parlamentets ledamöter fortsätter att stödja en hård linje mot Ryssland och omfattande hjälp till Ukraina, visar en ny analys av 52 omröstningar mellan juli och november 2024 utförd av analysplattformen EUMatrix.
Omkring 80 procent röstar för sanktioner mot Ryssland och militärt stöd till Ukraina. Starkast stöd finns bland nordiska, nederländska, baltiska, polska, slovenska och kroatiska parlamentariker. Mer passiva är ungerska och slovakiska ledamöter, i linje med sina regeringars mer proryska hållning.
Partigrupperna EPP (konservativa och kristdemokrater), S&D (socialdemokrater), RE (liberaler), ECR (högernationalister) och De gröna är mest Rysslandskritiska, medan högerextrema PfE och ESN och yttervänstern förespråkar en mildare linje. Nationella intressen, särskilt energisamarbeten med Ryssland, påverkar också ledamöternas ställningstaganden.

Av de svenska partierna är det Vänsterpartiet som är "minst påstridigt" gentemot Rysslands aggression mot Ukraina med 91 av 100 möjliga poäng, enligt sammanställningen. "Mest påstridiga" med 100 av 100 poäng är Kristdemokraterna, Sverigedemokraterna och Moderaterna. De svenska ledamöterna som helhet är efter Estland det "mest påstridiga" mot Ryssland.
